Solely, Notably, Poetry

The Oxford English Dictionary defines poetry as
a composition in verse or some comparable patterned arrangement of language in which the expression of feelings and ideas is given intensity by the use of distinctive style and rhythm
April is National Poetry Month, which highlights American poets and poetry and attempts to bring a love of poetry to more people. People seem to be passionate about poetry: they hate it or they love it. If you're a poetry hater, we'd like to persuade you to love it-just a little! If you're already in love with the art of the poem, we'd like to nourish your affection.

We'll be celebrating by introducing poets from Mississippi all month long. Be sure to check back with us here at the blog and on our Facebook and Twitter pages to follow along.
