The festivities are beginning early for those of us who JUST CAN'T WAIT. Head over to the Art Museum Thursday night for the Cut-Up and Craft Preview and make a sculpture from copied book pages. If you're not much of an artist, we suggest stopping in Fondren instead. Here you can partake in the Liquor-ature Pub Crawl, which starts at Sal & Mookie's Pi(e) Lounge at 6 p.m, before moving to the Apothecary and Fondren Public. Sponsors from the Mississippi Center for the Book and Lemuria Bookstore will be awarding fun prizes!
Do you have a box of old photographs of Meemaw and her sisters? How about that fading picture of Grandpa in his Army uniform? The Mississippi Digital Library will be on site at the Book Festival digitizing your photos (room 204 of the Capitol).

Check out the Mississippi Library Commission's tent on the Capitol grounds, as well. They'll be giving away stickers, pencils, and books. The Mississippi Center for the Book will be back Saturday, too, with #MSMadLibs and button making fun. The Mississippi Library Commission's Talking Book Services will also make an appearance at the Mississippi Book Festival. Check out fun demos on Braille and digital players and learn how to write your name in Braille. Information about digital, large print, and Braille services will be available. Eligible persons will even be able to sign up for services on site.
We can't wait to see you and have some literary fun Mississippi-style. Until the Book Festival, happy reading, y'all!
