It is time for JAM! April is Jazz Appreciation Month

Jazz Appreciation Month (JAM) was created in 2002 by John Edward Hasse, PhD, curator of the Smithsonian's National Museum of American History, to herald and celebrate the extraordinary heritage and history of jazz.  Jazz Appreciation Month (or JAM) is intended to draw public attention to the glories of jazz as both a historical and a living treasure. The idea is to encourage musicians, concert halls, schools, colleges, museums, libraries, and public broadcasters to offer special programs on jazz every April.

2017 JAM celebrates “Women in Jazz”. You can visit the Official Jazz Appreciation website at the National Museum of American History site, http://americanhistory.si.edu/smithsonian-jazz

How can you celebrate JAM? There are lots of ways! Get out there and JAM!
